PHYSICAL EXAMINATION

We believe the best approach to your pet's health care is to stop problems before they start. Proper care of your pet is the easiest and best way to keep him happy and healthy. At Westlake Village Animal Hospital, we provide a nose to toes exam for all of our clients' pets.

MODERN HOSPITAL FACILITIES

Westlake Village Animal Hospital contains a complete veterinary hospital. All routine veterinary procedures and treatments are available, including orthopedic surgery, oncology, chemotherapy, and a senior wellness program for older pets.

We recommend a complete physical exam for your pet on a yearly basis. Lots of changes can occur from year to year, especially as your pet gets older. Preventative health care recommendations are made based on examination findings and your pet’s individual needs and situation, which you help us to determine. This may include blood, urine, or fecal tests, vaccinations, dietary or exercise advice, and life-style changes.

VETERINARY SURGERY

Our Veterinarians are trained in the latest techniques should your pet require a surgical procedure. We offer a full range of orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries from routine spays and neuters to more advanced procedures such as hip surgery.

Our EKG and Pulse Oximetry equipment can monitor your Pet's heart rate and vital signs to better determine how well your Pet is responding to treatment and during surgical procedures.

ON-SITE LABORATORY

Our in-house veterinary laboratory features diagnostic testing for the following:

Blood – including Creatinine, GPT/ALT, Total Protein, Alkaline Phosphatase, Glucose, BUN, Albumin, Indirect Phosphorus, Total Cholerine, Amylase, Total Bilirubin, Heartworm Occult, Pregnancy, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia & PCV.
Dermal – including allergy skin sensitivity testing, presence of demodex or sarcoptic mange, ringworm, or yeast
Cytology - Includes sample preparation, staining, microscopic examination and interpretation.
Urine – urinalysis including pH, specific gravity, presence of Urobilinogen, Glucose, Ketone, Bilirubin, Protein, Blood, early renal failure detection in both dogs & cats
Fecal – intestinal parasites, parvovirus, and giardia
Specialized diagnostic tests sent to Antech Diagnostics with a pick up twice a day or to Greer Allergy Testing Laboratories
I-131 Feline Treatment including a consultation, radioactive iodine injection, urinalysis, blood pressure, hospitalization and waste container for home use.

ALLERGY PROGRAM

At Westlake Village Animal Hospital, we'll help you determine your pet's veterinary allergies and treat the symptoms so that they can enjoy their life as much as you do!

PET EYE CARE

Using a state-of-the-art device called a Tonopen, we are able to accurately measure your pet’s intraocular pressure with this quick, painless procedure.

EAR INFECTIONS

Chronic ear infections can be a sign of a deeper problem.

If your pet suffers from recurrent ear infections, we'll examine your pet's ears and prescribe a treatment plan to help make your pet more comfortable.

PET DENTAL CARE

We believe that proper dental care play an important part in your "best friend's" well being. Dental problems can lead to gingivitis and other dental conditions that can threaten your pet's health.

Our doctors perform in-house dental x-rays, surgeries and dental procedures using state-of-the-art equipment and technology to ensure your pet receives the best veterinary dental care available.

AVID MICROCHIP TECHNOLOGY

Every day a beloved family pet is lost. Tragically, most never make it back home because their owners didn't identify them. The MicroChip is the professional way to identify your pet and is proven safe and effective. A tiny MicroChip that contains a personal identification number distinguishes your pet as a special member of your family. The MicroChip is so tiny that it fits through a hypodermic needle. Just like a vaccination, it is injected under the skin of your pet where it remains safely for life. This inexpensive procedure can be done anytime and protects virtually any pet in your household.

VACCINATIONS
